ugly toys
October 24, 2009
Seems like all things grotesque have a certain appeal on me, and these ugly-cute toys are no exception. Spencer Hansen and his friends have created “Blamoville” where creatures are flying, crying, bouncing without regrets! As they say: In Blamoville there are no sorrys, put your sorrys in a sac and come out to play! How can I resist?

the wild things are everywhere
October 21, 2009
This movie about our inner fears is already playing in theaters in the States. An adult – friendly fairytale about a kid and his journey in a parallel world of weird creatures and monsters! It has inspired (among other, mostly fury stuff) a line of jewelry in collaboration with Pamela Love which looks primitive and “monsterish”! Needless to say I would take them home in a sec along with any other thing Pamela Love makes! Can’t wait for the movie to play in Europe!
If you can afford them, buy them from shopbop

Christopher Kane and the prints
October 19, 2009
Christopher Kane is a fairly new kid on the block, being out and about since 2006 when he graduated from (where else?) Central Saint Martins. One of his last hits was this dress – t-shirt with a giant gorilla on the front, printed with details that, for me ,weren’t reeealy necessary! Now his resort collection is way more calm and serene, some pieces put a smile on my face and made me dream of sunsets and tropical islands. (well this is a resort collection, it is supposed to make you dream etc)
His collaboration with Top Shop is a completely different story though! If you are into eyelets and sheer leggins or you simply like your oldfashion denim jacket with a twist then you should check him out. I’m already making a top inspired by the eyelet story, hope it will be ready soon!

New York I love you, but you’re bringing me down..
October 18, 2009
Well this city is not bringing me down really, what brings me down is that I came back! Unfortunately the visa was for a 3 months stay and moneywise? Let’s just say not anyone can afford to live there! 10 days was all I could pay for..
I think my money would last longer if I hadn’t spent them buying clothes and shoes! (margaritas and huge bagels were a survival issue, couldn’t cut back on them)
Anyway around 5th avenue and Broadway you can find the usual touristic shops selling this iconic t-shirt for as less as 5$
shoes: random neighborhood shop in paris
jeans: very very used Tommy Hilfiger denim (by used I mean I ‘ve washed at least 600 times)
cardigan: zara
bow neckless: made by me

First they were spoted on Chanel, then a second version came, this time from DKNY (i am guessing these are way more affordable). And a few weeks ago, I came across the asos.com take on these, pretty weird looking tights. Need I say more? I am ordering them as we speak!
In the meantime:

some acrimony

Do you like them black and sharp? Maybe with a bit of Japanese simplicity and a twist of constructive deconstruction? I know I do. In Acrimony they roll like this, see for your self below.
a feast for your eyes or the horror
October 12, 2009
Oh alexander, he always amazes me. These shoes, completely unwearable, reptil-ish and grotesque at the same time! I am guessing it will be hard for the usual suspects to knock them off, won’t be? But I could use them as art for my living room if I could afford them!
